ABOUT US
ZOR is a grassroots youth development organization that focuses on teaching leadership, teamwork, and discipline through the medium of sport. Our leagues, camps, development programs, and training packages range in level of instruction and cater to individuals, small groups, and large groups.

The founder of this organization is Manny Sahota, a Brampton, Ontario native and former student-athlete of d'Youville Secondary School (3X ROPSSAA Champion), Cornell University (NCAA D1), and the University of Toronto (USports). It was his goal after graduating to create a premier basketball academy where kids could come to fall in love with the game and develop their skills and understanding throughout their development years. ZOR is the product of passion combined with positive aspects of training, competition, and sport. With a 'player-focused' coaching style and ability to build rapport with younger generations, ZOR's team of coaches and trainers provide a positive atmosphere where students come not only to learn the game, but also find pleasure in this process. Our directors understand the importance of life beyond basketball and incorporate character building as well other critical developmental activities into ZOR programming. Ultimately, while basketball development is the priority, our programs are designed with the intention of inspiring and empowering our community's youth to excel in areas that are appealing to them; whether that be sport or a school subject they may have an affinity towards.

ZOR Basketball was founded on the pillar of ‘effort’ – a direct translation of the Punjabi term 'Zor'. Our slogan is 'Effort Eliminates Doubt,' as we believe (and studies show) physical and cognitive effort builds self-esteem and confidence. The more effort you invest into your craft and prepare yourself for future situations, the less likely you are to give up or fail. A simple, effective, and proven approach to making aspirations turn into reality.
